Welcome to those of you joining me from Mommy To All Girls and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail!
Disney World can be one of the best places to celebrate the Christmas season – they don’t miss a beat when it comes to celebrating Christmas in every corner of the parks and resorts. One of the best seasonal events – in my opinion the very best is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party which is held at the Magic Kingdom on certain dates in November and December.
What makes the party so special is how the Magic Kingdom comes to life when the crowds enter the park, anticipating the nights amazing events that are about to unfold. There is so much excitement in the air as families are getting into the holiday mode waiting for Mickey and Santa to come down Main Street USA with the “snow” beginning to fall.
What more could you ask for – “snow” falling in above freezing temps along with hot chocolate and cookies? Perfect way to start off a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
The main event in my opinion is Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade which shows twice nightly during the party nights. Perhaps my favorite section of the parade is a favorite among many – the real life marching toy soldiers which are so much fun to watch!
The Christmas parade is one of the best that Disney puts on – I highly recommend watching it along main street even if there may be more crowds or a longer wait – the setting plus festive atmosphere is amazing.
A new addition to the Christmas party in the past few years has been the spectacular lights that have been added to the castle to make it sparkle and come to life at night. Each night at approximately 6:30pm the characters from Frozen come out in front of the castle to put on a show and turn the castle icy with lights. It’s a short show but something special to see during the holiday festivities.
You can watch a video of the new show and lighting ceremony here:
The night ends up with a special holiday fireworks show over the Magic Kingdom set to holiday music and Christmas themed fireworks that light up the skies over the “icy” cinderella’s castle. It’s the perfect way to wrap up your night as you dream of a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party!
That will do it for today! Thanks for joining me on this stop of the Magical Blograil – looking forward to seeing you soon! Your next and final stop will be Superheroes and Teacups.

I love the Christmas party so much! It makes central Florida feel like the most beautiful winter wonderland. Did you get to watch the Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime parade on the Disney Parks website this week?
We experienced the Christmas party for the first time last year and that is definitely my kind of Christmas celebration! Disney just knows how to do everything right. It’s not nearly as cold as it is here in my home in PA, and the fun and entertainment just go on and on and on! Definitely a great thing to dream about when dreaming of a Disney Christmas!
We watched a video of the castle lighting online and it was so beautiful, thanks for sharing!
There is no sight quite like the soldiers coming down Mainstreet! We attended the party a few years ago and it was so amazing. The way they decorate is beyond Magical! How do you feel about Elsa taking over the lighting ceremony? At first I was a little sad because after all it is Cinderella’s castle but then I watched the video and it was beautiful!
That parade looks fantastic! Have you been to many Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties?
