Two New Disney World 2015 Discounts

Disney Caribbean Beach, Lighthouse Dock

Deal Alert: Disney just announced two new discounts for early 2015! Two offers were announced, one is a room only discount which is the pretty standard promotion they run but the other is play, stay and dine offer which is a little more interesting and could save you some more money. These two offers are for early 2015 which means that many of you have booked your vacations already but not to fret – usually you can apply these discounts after the fact.

Let’s take a look at both of these new promotions and how they can help save you money on your next Disney trip!

Play, Stay and Dine Offer

This offer provides a discount when you book a package that includes your park ticket, hotel room and Disney dining plan – basically all you need for your vacation. The holiday period of 2014 is blocked out for this promotion but good news is that it includes the marathon weekend in January which I may be taking advantage of.

Free stuff disney world

I make a dummy booking for January 21st – 26th for 2 adults at the Coronado Springs resort with the play, stay and dine offer. The total came to $1,867 which comes to $186.70 per adult pr night which is a great deal considering that it covers your hotel, park ticket and food.

If I were to make that same booking at the rack rates 2,251 which is right about at the $600 discount that Disney is promoting for this offer.

Of course like most offers the more expensive resorts will give you the bigger discounts, with the value resorts you’ll be getting a $400 discount which is still a good deal.

The Play, Stay and Dine Details

Save up to $600 on a 5-night/6-day room, ticket and dining plan package for a family of four at select Disney Resort hotels.

When is this good for? Valid for stays most nights December 14 through December 20, 2014 and January 5 through March 7, 2015.  Be sure to Book by December 29, 2014 but the earlier the better because rooms will be limited.

This special offer includes the Quick-Service Dining Plan at select Value Resorts and the Disney Dining Plan at Moderate, Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resort hotels.

Save Up to 30% Room Only Offer

If you’re not looking to purchase the dining package or park tickets Disney also just released a room only offer of up to 30% for dates in early 2015. This is their pretty standard 30% off room offer that we see offered in most seasons.

What’s nice about this offer is that it’s over the cheaper value season and as an added bonus will apply during the marathon weekend for all of you runners out there.

Of course as with all Disney offers you’ll get the maximum discount of 30% off on the most expensive deluxe resorts. The cheaper value resorts you’ll only be getting a 20% discount which still isn’t too bad.

When is this good for? Valid for stays most nights January 5 through March 28, 2015. Book by December 29, 2014.

Both of these offers can be booked with a Disney travel agency or by yourself here on Disneyworld.com. I would go with the Play,Stay and Dine offer as that is a better value than the room only discount.

As with any offer make sure you run the numbers to see what works best for you. For example I’m planning on spending a couple days at Universal my next trip so it probably doesn’t make sense for me to use the play, stay and dine.

  2. Hi, we are traveling to Disney May 20-30. I would love to visit Universal as well. What are your recommendations for fitting the 2 Universal parks in a Disney vacation? I am especially concerned about traveling to the park because we are flying this time and won’t have a car.

    1. Hi Iva – Universal has two amazing parks, with the addition of the new Harry Potter Lands it’s definitely worth stopping by. You have many travel options from cabs, Uber, or Mears Shuttles (http://www.mearstransportation.com/) . You can also rent a car for a day to take the trip up.

  4. Hello! We are heading to Disney World sometime in 2016, I hear April is a good time to go (less crowds and not too expensive). Do you have any tips for planning now? Are there discounts this far in advance?

    1. 2016 is pretty far off, you won’t really see any discount offers that far out. April is a decent time of year to go, you will run into some spring break crowds but shouldn’t be too bad. Just make sure to avoid easter weekend.

I would recommend waiting until at least April 2015 to start planning your trip.

  7. Hi,

    we’re a family of 4 – 2A, 2C (4,11). we will be visiting WDW in august 19-25 2015.
Would there be chances of free dining? Is the free dining available for character meals at the theme parks?

what sort of crowd levels are we looking at?
Any help/advise is highly appreciated. Thanks for your time in advance.

    1. There is a chance but nothing has been announced yet. Crowd levels will be high but starting to lower because schools will be getting back into session.

Be sure to stay tuned to see if free dining will be announced for your dates!

  8. Hello,
We are a family of 3 heading to Disney for the first half of December 2015. I have my fingers crossed for free Dining and a room discount at our Moderate Resort. When do you think we will know if either of them will happen? Thanks so much
